Iraqi Refugees (from Newspaper) 2003

Iraqi Refugees, (from a newspaper photo) 2003
Charcoal on paper, 19 x 23.5 ins

This war is 10 years on, 1 million civilians dead or injured, millions more displaced, no end in sight. No goals, no endgame, no exit strategy.
Unjust retribution by a war mongering superpower.

9 / 11 sketchbook (drawings from the TV, Sept 11th / 12th 2001))

Posted by Picasa

As the TV images appeared that bright September morning I started
sketching quickly with my inkpen on a small pad - not believing what I was seeing
and wondering was it the end of the world, fearing what blind retribution would befall the innocent across the globe.........

Small blue thing

Blue (Forever)
Oil on wood - 6 x 8 ins

several years of over painting on this
it was once a palette - a tray - a plank in a floor
and before that a tree in a forest, before being
cut down, processed - blue, blue the colour of forever
